A monument to Alexander Atyasov was erected in the Vitebsk region
He passed away almost a year ago, but his deeds are remembered, and some of his initiatives continue to be implemented by his followers and successors.
Therefore, it is not surprising that a large number of people gathered for the opening of a monument in the village of Barshchevka, Vitebsk district, where Alexander Egorovich's parents were from. The event was attended by the head of the region, Nikolai Sherstnev, the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, heads of city and district executive committees, councils of deputies, heads of administrations of Vitebsk, representatives of labor collectives, public organizations, colleagues in labor and public activities, and villagers.
It is symbolic that the bust is installed on a stone found in Vitebsk – the city where Alexander Atyasov was born and, as his wife said, loved very much, never left for long, and always returned. He returned to tirelessly work for the benefit of his native region, to make it more beautiful and better, to take care of the comfort and well-being of local residents.
– Alexander Egorovich left a lot behind. Not only a clear system of work for local councils of deputies and a good material and technical base. He left a memory of himself in the golden domes of the Holy Spirit Monastery, the Assumption and Resurrection churches. Largely thanks to his organizational skills, enthusiasm, and colossal work capacity, Gorodok and Tolochin, as well as other settlements in the region, were transformed, – said Vladimir Terentyev. – A little over three months ago, I took over the post that Alexander Egorovich held for 16 years.
