The soldier's monument in Miory is being restored

In Miory, preparations have begun for the city's 500th anniversary, which it will celebrate next year. The soldier sculpture has been dismantled from Fallen Soldiers Square. The monument, which has stood in this location for over half a century, is intended for restoration.

All ceremonial events are held on Fallen Soldiers Square in Miory. Soldiers and partisans who died during the Great Patriotic War are buried here. Among them are soldiers of the 9th Guards Rifle Division of the 6th Army of the 1st Baltic Front, who died in July 1944 during the liberation of this settlement. In 1959, a monument – a soldier sculpture – was erected on their grave.
