Floodwaters have submerged 24 houses and 48 yards in Belarus in 24 hours

April 5, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Floodwaters have flooded 24 residential buildings and 48 households in Belarus over the past day. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. "On Sunday, 24 private residential buildings and 48 households were flooded by floodwaters. In particular, one residential building was flooded in Lepel, 23 in Verkhnedvinsk and the village of Borovka in Verkhnedvinsk district. A section of the road was also flooded in the same district," the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained, adding that the flood situation across the country is generally stable. In total, more than 1.2 thousand households and 40 residential buildings (37 of them in the Vitebsk region) in 36 settlements remain flooded by flood and meltwaters in Belarus. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no meltwater flooding was recorded over the past day. However, it is too early to claim that the danger of such flooding has completely passed. There is still snow in the swamps and forests. In unfavorable weather conditions (temperature increase, heavy rains), this snow can increase the water volume, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted. -0-
