A pensioner in the Dubrovno district dug up shells in his garden instead of worms for fishing

October 2, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. In the Dubrovno district, a pensioner, while preparing for fishing, was digging for worms and found shells, a forensic investigator of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office, Alexander Kazakov, told a BELTA correspondent. The 69-year-old man from the village of Kalinovka was surprised by an unexpected find in his own garden. Attempts to find worms on it led to the discovery of two 45 mm caliber artillery shells from the Great Patriotic War. Not risking to search for bait any further, the pensioner contacted the police. Sappers from military unit 5524, who arrived for demining, inspected the entire territory of the unlucky fisherman's house, but found no other ammunition. The shells were taken to a safe place and destroyed.-0-
