The transfer of agricultural machinery between regions of Belarus must be justified - A. Lukashenko
August 11, Nesvizh district /Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA/. The transfer of agricultural machinery between regions of Belarus during the harvesting campaign must be justified. This task was set by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his visit to agricultural organizations in the Minsk region, BELTA correspondent reports.
"Machinery should be transferred very carefully and reasonably, it is expensive," the head of state said.
Regarding the harvest situation, the President said: "Vitebsk and Minsk regions are 5-7 days behind with the harvest, Grodno region is 2 days behind. I have already said that the main thing is speed. And we are not keeping up. It's August, and these 3-5 days may be problematic to catch up."
As reported to the President, 58% of the areas have been harvested in the country. The average grain yield is 39.1 centners per hectare. Over the past day, a record harvesting rate of 6% has been demonstrated. Despite the fact that neighboring countries have a poor harvest this year, Alexander Lukashenko noted that it might be more profitable not to sell grain abroad, but to use it effectively within the country. "This year, grain prices will be good. But if it is more profitable to "pass" grain through animal husbandry, then this path should be taken," the President emphasized.
The head of state also touched upon the issue of milk production technology. He stressed the need to build new farms. According to Alexander Lukashenko, it should be borne in mind that the European Union is willing to purchase milk, but for this, it must be certified according to European standards. -0-
