The list of foreign currencies subject to mandatory sale by economic entities has been expanded in Belarus

August 26, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. The list of foreign currencies subject to mandatory sale by economic entities on the domestic foreign exchange market has been expanded in Belarus. The corresponding resolution No. 350 of August 25, 2011, was adopted by the Board of the National Bank, the National Bank's Information Department informed BELTA correspondent.

Ten positions have been added to the list of foreign currencies subject to mandatory sale on the domestic foreign exchange market. They are mainly currencies whose share has significantly increased in export settlements - these are the Lithuanian lit, the Latvian lat, the Kazakhstani tenge, and the Polish zloty. The list also includes the Czech koruna, the Hungarian forint, the Chinese yuan, the new Israeli shekel, the New Zealand dollar, and the Turkish lira.

"This decision was made due to the fact that economic entities, in order to avoid the mandatory sale of foreign currency at the exchange rate, have significantly increased the share of export contracts, the currency of settlement for which is not subject to mandatory sale," the National Bank explained.

To speed up the crediting of the ruble equivalent to the accounts of serviced clients after the mandatory sale of foreign currency, the resolution establishes the deadline for its transfer. The bank is obliged to carry out this operation no later than the next business day after the trading day.

In addition, the instruction on the procedure for mandatory sale of foreign currency on the domestic foreign exchange market of September 13, 2006 No. 129 has been brought into line with Decree No. 326 of July 25, 2011 "On some issues of mandatory sale of foreign currency."-0-
