Vitebsk region APK leaders will share their impressions of the solemn honoring of the best agrarians in Minsk

Among those awarded at the solemn celebration of the leaders of the country's agro-industrial complex in Minsk, with the participation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, were representatives of the Vitebsk region, and the agricultural production cooperative "Larinovka" of the Orsha district was among the best farms in Belarus.

The meeting summed up the results of the past season and defined tasks for the near future. We asked the participants of this event to share their impressions.

Oleg Lyndin, Chairman of the Dubrovno District Executive Committee:

– The President's speech can rightfully be called a program of action for the further improvement of the country's agro-industrial complex. It is very important that it is aimed not only at increasing the volume of agricultural production, but above all at making life in the countryside better and more comfortable. Then young people will stay here, and new jobs will be created.

Much is being done in the Dubrovno district for the development of the agro-industrial complex. And the results of the agricultural year showed this – high yields, weight gains, and milk yields. Behind every figure is the work of a villager: painstaking, selfless, and difficult. Work that confirms a person's love for their small homeland every day. And therefore, it is symbolic that it was at this solemn ceremony that 2018 was declared the Year of the Small Homeland.

As for the event itself, it was held at a very high level, in a warm, friendly atmosphere and brought only positive emotions. Communication with colleagues from all over Belarus and sincere congratulations from the head of state are moments that will remain in memory for many years to come. It is gratifying that the work of the peasant is valued in our country, and the state awards presented are the brightest confirmation of this.

Alexander Kukhtenkov, Director of the agricultural production cooperative "Larinovka" of the Orsha district:

– Of course, it is an honor that our agricultural enterprise is among the best in the country today. We strive to maintain this standard year after year, consolidating and multiplying our achievements. It is noteworthy that recently the management vertical in agriculture has been built so strong that it has allowed Belarus to strengthen its position on the international agricultural arena.

The financial condition of most agricultural enterprises has improved, and food exports have approached the mark of 5 billion dollars for the first time.

It is extremely important that, while meeting the needs of the domestic market, the agricultural sector also maintains its export positions both in the post-Soviet space and in individual EU countries, as well as in the Arab, Asian, African, and Latin American regions – this is more than 60 countries. All these achievements are the work of the farmers and livestock breeders of each farm.

I fully share the Head of State's conviction that a person from the village is special. All Belarusians, by and large, come from the plow and the sickle. And with age, one's native places call even stronger. Personal participation in the process of bringing every corner of the land in order, concrete deeds and actions will become an example of true patriotism for new generations.

Vasily Khamyonok, Director of the Polotsk Grain Processing Plant and Head of the Agroholding created on its basis:

— I liked the good organization of the event, and it is pleasant that the labor of villagers received such high recognition. The holiday brought together deserving people from different regions of the country – it was interesting and useful to communicate with them. The President's report was very thorough and comprehensive. I especially remember the words that we must cherish our roots, take care of the village, and take care of every inch of our native land in a thrifty manner. Together, we will make it even more well-kept and beautiful.

I felt proud when it was stated that today Belarus is among the top five global leaders in dairy product exports. We can indeed work more efficiently, considering that modern technologies are being introduced in rural areas, science is developing, and equipment is being modernized. For example, our holding company managed to achieve a production increase of 118% last year, and we aim to help revive all the farms joined to us and bring them to the level of the best.

Vyacheslav Anikovich, tractor driver-machinist of OJSC "Torguny" Dokshitsy District, holder of the honorary title "Person of the Year of Vitebsk Region":

– I attended the festive ceremony of awarding state awards to the best workers of the agricultural sector together with Vladimir Lavtsevich, a machine operator from OJSC "Dokshitsky Rayagropromservice". I liked everything very much. I was glad to represent Dokshitsky District at such an interesting and important celebration.

Each such event allows us to take a break from our usual work in the fields and at the machine yards, and to communicate with rural workers who have come from different regions of the country.

It is gratifying that the labor of agricultural workers is highly valued in our country. Harvesting a rich grain crop with minimal losses and preparing fodder for livestock is a labor-intensive job. In his speech, President Alexander Lukashenko rightly noted that strict adherence to agricultural production technology guarantees worthy results. Therefore, it is so important to carry out sowing and harvesting with high quality and within optimal deadlines.
