The traveling exhibition 'On the Roads of War' will be held in the cities of Vitebsk and Smolensk regions
This is the third motor rally within the framework of the project of the same name, which is being implemented by the Smolensk Regional Public Movement "Zemlyaki" in cooperation with Belarusian partners. The program, launched in 2015 and planned until 2020, is aimed at civic-patriotic education and enlightenment, and preserving the historical memory of the feat of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.
The geography of the project covers regions of Russia and Belarus that bore the brunt of the German fascist troops in the first year of the war. Monuments have been erected there, military memorials are located, and local museums preserve evidence of the feat of the Red Army soldiers and the civilian population.
– The materials collected during the two motor rallies formed the basis of the exhibition, which was decided to be presented as a mobile exhibition for clarity. The idea was realized with the financial support of the Russian Presidential Grants Fund, – said Stanislav Kashirin, Chairman of the Smolensk Public Movement "Zemlyaki."
The route of the 2018 motor rally includes Vitebsk, Orsha, Glubokoye, Gorodok, Liozno, Dubrovno, Polotsk, Shumilino, as well as some Russian cities. Upon its completion, until June 2019, the exhibition will be displayed in museums and schools of the Smolensk and Vitebsk regions, reported Stanislav Nikolaevich.
