Prospects for the development of the Orsha district are being discussed at an open field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
The serious discussion about the socio-economic reset of Orsha began almost two years ago. During the Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, the Head of State paid special attention to the Orsha region, emphasizing that state bodies and local authorities should demonstrate how to develop a large and complex region in a short period of time. The district-level restructuring should make the lives of Orsha residents more comfortable and cozy, allowing them to earn more. It is also necessary for it to serve as a good example for other cities and regions of the country in need of renewal.
On December 31, 2018, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus "On the Development of the Orsha District of the Vitebsk Region" was signed. The Program for the Development of the Orsha District for the period up to 2023 was approved. One of the first effective steps of its implementation could be observed literally a week ago. Then, near the village of Bolbasovo, the first phase of the country's largest multimodal industrial and logistics center "Bremimo Orsha" was commissioned. It will provide optimal conditions for the processing and movement of goods from producers to consumers in the markets of the European and Customs unions. 100 people are already working in the warehouses, administrative and service building, parking lot for trucks and cars, and in the border, customs, and veterinary control services. In the future, the number of jobs may increase to 2,000. What's next?
The next steps in the implementation of the Program for the Development of the Orsha District are being discussed today at an open field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The meeting, which is taking place in Orsha, is attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, Head of the Presidential Administration Natalya Kochanova, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov, Administrator of Affairs of the President Viktor Sheiman, as well as other leaders at the district, regional, and republican levels.
