March 2, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The presentation of the first Belarusian ambulance will be held in Vitebsk at the end of March, the head of the administration of FEZ "Vitebsk" Sergey Stashevsky announced at a press conference today. The vehicle was created by a FEZ resident, the Belarusian-Russian joint limited liability company "Grandiscar". According to Sergey Stashevsky, the first two vehicles were assembled in December and are currently undergoing certification tests. The model will be produced on the basis of a Volkswagen chassis. The cost of the Belarusian ambulance is about 70 thousand euros, which is 30-35% cheaper than foreign counterparts. Currently, the company operates in leased premises, but by the end of 2011, it plans to open its own plant for the production of special equipment - vehicles for healthcare, law enforcement agencies, and social taxis. The production process will be based on the technology of large-node assembly. At the first stage, it is planned to produce 1.5 thousand cars per year. About 100 people will get jobs. -0-
