Construction of the first roller ski track and boat station has begun in Vitebsk, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Leonid Kovalev told reporters today, BELTA correspondent reports. A sports and recreation area will appear in one of the most beautiful corners of the regional center - along the floodplain of the Vitba River. A three-kilometer track for roller skating, a football field, and a volleyball court will be equipped here. It will be possible to go boating and pedal boating on the river itself, which will be available for rent. Catering and retail outlets will set up mobile points so that vacationers have a place to eat. According to Leonid Kovalev, the sports and recreation area will welcome citizens as early as the beginning of this summer. The funds - about Br200 million - for the arrangement of the sports and recreation area were earned by the citizens themselves at a subbotnik in March. However, this is only the initial stage of the park's development, emphasized Leonid Kovalev. Currently, design and estimate documentation is being prepared for the improvement of this territory with the construction of a stationary cafe, a children's amusement park, and a boat pier.
