Small district centers should not lag behind large cities in terms of the development of socio-cultural infrastructure. This was noted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a ceremony dedicated to the opening of the first launch complex of the cultural and recreational center in Liozno.

"The policy of the regional executive committee leadership is aimed at ensuring that district centers and small settlements do not lag behind large cities in terms of socio-cultural infrastructure. That all conditions for a decent life and work are created in urban-type settlements like Liozno. And for this, a good kindergarten and school, a music school, a sports hall, a swimming pool, etc. are needed. And this facility, which we are opening today, will help improve the social sphere of the district center," said the head of the region.

The governor noted that economically, it is not the easiest time right now. "There is not enough funding, and one can find many arguments for doing nothing. Or, conversely, one can focus efforts, mobilize, and achieve a good result. And this cultural and recreational center is a prime example of joint work for the benefit of people," emphasized Nikolai Sherstnev.

He also warmly congratulated women on Mother's Day and noted that in the new center, children will be able to gain strength in sports sections, develop skills and talents in clubs, get acquainted with national culture, and master folk crafts. "It is very important for parents to be proud of their children. I wish everyone exactly this feeling, so that children are a pride for their mothers and for the entire region," said the head of the region.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, noted that much has been done in the Liozno district recently to make life more comfortable and prosperous. "The district is developing. Your cultural institutions -one of the best in the field, which is not surprising, the Liozno region is rich in history and traditions. The new center, which we will complete in the near future, will contribute to making the sports and cultural life of the region even more vibrant and fulfilling," emphasized Vladimir Andreichenko. In conclusion, he congratulated women on Mother's Day, wished the residents well-being, and the region prosperity.
