Первая «Школа мира» появилась в Витебском районе
This status has been awarded to Voronovskaya Secondary School, which is the eighth in our region to be honored with the honorary peacekeeping title.

The event dedicated to the awarding of the status was attended by Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Regional Executive Committee, Tatyana Tumanova, Chairperson of the regional branch of the Public Association "Belarusian Peace Foundation", Zhanna Cherkunova, Deputy Chairperson of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee, and other representatives of the district authorities.

Voronovskaya Secondary School is carrying out extensive work on the patriotic education of the younger generation, promoting the main peacekeeping principles, and preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War events. There are worthy results in each of these areas. Students, together with teachers, visit veterans, help them with household chores, improve military burial sites and monuments, participate in traditional military-patriotic song contests "For the Glory of the Fatherland," recitation contests "Roads of Victory – Roads of Destiny!", campaigns "Let's Preserve Memory for Descendants," "Victory Train," and also in search work. The volunteer movement is actively developing at the school. For example, the "Give Good" detachment is engaged in charity, helping those in need, lonely and elderly citizens, large and low-income families, and stray animals housed in the Vitebsk shelter.

Galina Vasilyeva, a former child prisoner of Nazi concentration camps from Vitebsk, attended the solemn ceremony. In her time, she headed the department of the Peace Fund of the Zheleznodorozhny district, made a huge contribution to the development of the peacekeeping movement, for which she was awarded the medal "Distinguished Peacemaker" in April.

The "Patriot" club, operating at the school's historical and local lore museum, fosters an active civic stance among students. The students interact with public organizations and citizens from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, which promotes a better understanding of the cultures and traditions of these peoples and strengthens friendly relations. On this day, the head of "Patriot," Irina Krotova, was awarded an Honorary Certificate of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee.

The students of Voronovskaya Secondary School, who became peacekeepers, pledged to always adhere to the ideals of peace and humanism, and to love and defend their Motherland.
