The first student job fair for participation in "Labor Semester-2013" is taking place in Vitebsk
Vitebsk is hosting the first job fair today for students and pupils wishing to participate in the "Labor Semester-2013," the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent.
The event is organized at Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov. Today, a presentation of the activities of student teams is taking place here. Experienced members gladly share their experience and impressions with everyone interested, demonstrating the specifics of their work in a playful manner. An exhibition of photographs taken by the participants during the "Labor Semester-2012" also helps to form one's own opinion. "Those young people who have already decided on their summer work plans can immediately submit applications for employment," the BRSM noted, emphasizing that preparations for the third labor semester are already underway by the regional organization of the BRSM, and mass events of a similar nature will begin in the region in the near future.
The job fair is being held during the regional seminar on organizing temporary youth employment. Its participants include vice-rectors of higher education institutions of the region, deputy directors for educational work of vocational-technical and secondary specialized educational institutions, heads of labor affairs headquarters of universities, and full-time employees of the regional organization of the BRSM. During the event, participants discuss current issues related to compliance with labor legislation and occupational safety standards, sanitary norms and rules by employers of student teams, changes in regulatory documents concerning youth employment organization, etc. The seminar also plans to develop a system of interaction between interested parties in organizing youth employment, including within student teams.
In total, over 15.3 thousand pupils and students from the Vitebsk region took part in the "Labor Semester-2012" over the past year, working in 757 student teams (construction, agricultural, pedagogical, environmental, service). Individual jobs were found for 416 pupils. Among those employed, 7.3 thousand were minors.
