The first museum card in Belarus appeared in Polotsk

July 9, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The first museum card in Belarus, a reusable museum ticket, has appeared in Polotsk, Igor Zagrekov, chief specialist of the physical culture, sports and tourism department of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. The front of the reusable ticket features a plan of the Polotsk Jesuit Collegium from an engraving of 1785 and a sculpture of Archangel Michael, which is kept in the Polotsk Saint Sophia Cathedral. The back depicts a monument to the Polotsk prince Vseslav Bryachislavich, better known from "The Tale of Igor's Campaign" as Vseslav the Sorcerer, and a list of museums that can be visited with this card. It includes all 11 museums of the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve. The cost of the unified ticket is Br11 thousand, while a single museum visit with a regular ticket costs Br2 thousand - Br3 thousand. The first 30 tickets have already become not only a pass to get acquainted with the precious collections of Polotsk, but also real souvenirs. Now, the next series of the unified museum card is being printed at the Goznak factory, which will be available for purchase at any of the 11 Polotsk museums. As Igor Zagrekov noted, famous tourist centers in Europe and Asia have long been using museum cards. For example, in Paris, it allows you to visit about 70 museums. Belarus does not yet have similar experience, but with the development of inbound tourism, the creation of a museum card is becoming a necessity. The implementation of the project to create a unified museum card for Polotsk became possible thanks to the Belarusian-Swedish-Latvian project "Panorama Dvina/Daugava". In the near future, a tourist information map of the central historical part of the city will appear in Polotsk. -0-
