Vitebsk Carpets became the first in Belarus to produce "super shaggy" carpets
A new technology for the production of jacquard carpets, allowing the manufacture of "super shaggy" products with a pile height of up to 70 mm, has been implemented at Vitebsk Carpets OJSC.
A new technology for the production of jacquard carpets, allowing the manufacture of "super shaggy" products with a pile height of up to 70 mm, has been implemented at Vitebsk Carpets OJSC.
The project is import-substituting, with an investment volume of about 10 billion rubles. As reported to
"Vitebskiye Vesti" at the enterprise, these funds were mainly directed towards the purchase of a carpet weaving machine from Van de Wiele (Belgium). The machine belongs to a new generation of equipment with higher production characteristics. Vitebsk carpet makers have already commissioned the technological innovation and have begun producing double-width jacquard products from "Frieze" polypropylene yarns with a pile length of 50 mm (before that, the maximum pile height of "shaggy" carpets produced at the enterprise was 30 mm).By the way, today in Belarus this type of product is represented by goods of Turkish and Belgian production. Vitebsk residents plan to launch and actively promote an import-substituting product on the market this year, which will be both cheaper and more diverse in color range.
