The first crew of thousand-ton combine harvesters appeared at the harvest in the Vitebsk region

A combine harvester crew from the Orsha district was the first in the Vitebsk region to thresh a thousand tons of new crop grain, the regional committee of the agro-industrial complex workers' union reported.

The frontrunners of the harvest are working at the "Larinovka" agricultural production cooperative. The crew, consisting of senior combine operator Nikolai Zakharenko and combine operator Sergei Katkovsky, had threshed over 1 thousand tons of grain by this morning. The grain growers are harvesting with a Lexion-580 combine. As of the morning of August 1, 57.3 thousand hectares of grain fields have been mown in the region, which is 16.3% of the total area of grain and leguminous crops. The grain growers have threshed 171.5 thousand tons of grain, with an average yield of 29.9 centners per hectare. In total, the region's agrarians are to harvest more than 350 thousand hectares.
