The first echelon of Venezuelan oil is expected to arrive at Naftan on the evening of July 31st.

July 30, Minsk /Irina Aniskevich - BELTA/. The first echelon with Venezuelan oil is expected to arrive at Naftan OJSC on the evening of July 31. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Nikolay Kolbasenko, Deputy General Director of the enterprise. The oil will be delivered to the plant in stages over several days. Preparatory work is currently underway for the unloading of oil into special containers. As previously reported, another batch of Venezuelan oil, amounting to 80 thousand tons, is being delivered to Belarus in transit through Estonia. Venezuelan oil, which will be delivered by the fifth tanker to the Estonian port, will be processed at Naftan OJSC. Previous supplies of oil from Venezuela to Belarus were carried out through the port of Odessa and were intended for processing at the Mozyr Oil Refinery. The oil is transported in tank cars. According to Belarusian Railway, 22-23 railway trains are involved in this. The transportation time of hydrocarbon raw materials by rail to Belarus from Estonia will be shorter than from Ukraine. If the distance between Odessa and Mozyr is about 1050 km, then between the Estonian port of Muuga and Novopolotsk it is 850 km. Nikolay Kolbasenko also reported that in the coming months, another batch of oil is planned to arrive at the plant, which is also expected to be delivered from Venezuela in transit through Estonia. An agreement on the supply of Venezuelan oil to Belarus was signed in March of this year. According to the agreements of the presidents of the two countries, the total volume of its supply should be about 4 million tons over 12 months. The Novopolotsk oil refinery Naftan was commissioned in 1963 and is part of the Belneftekhim concern. The plant specializes in the production of fuel and oil products, producing over 70 types, including oils, gasoline, and diesel fuel meeting Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. About 70% of the products are supplied to CIS countries, the European Union, the Middle East, and the USA. At the end of 2008, Polimir OJSC was merged with Naftan OJSC, and a petrochemical complex was created. -0-
