The first combine harvester operator to reach three thousand tons appeared in the Vitebsk region

The first combine harvester operator to reach three thousand tons in the Vitebsk region is Sergey Grekov from the Orsha district, as reported by Viktor Gutorov, chairman of the regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agricultural Workers.

Sergey Grekov is an undisputed triumphator of the current harvesting campaign in the region. He works on a KZS-1218 combine in the fields of the "Zadneprovsky" selection and hybrid center branch in the Orsha district. "Given the high yield of grain crops in this district, he has every chance to be the first to overcome the four-thousand-ton mark for grain harvested," is confident Viktor Gutorov.

The Vitebsk region already has 86 crews that have harvested one thousand tons each, including 44 working in the Orsha district, 15 in the Dubrovno district, and 11 in the Vitebsk district. There are currently four crews that have harvested two thousand tons each in the region. Two of them are working in the Orsha district, and the other two are teams of machine operators from the Vitebsk Agricultural Holding, engaged in the fields of the Lepel and Vitebsk districts.

As of the morning of August 21, 64.6% of all grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in the Vitebsk region. More than 700 thousand tons of grain have been harvested with an average yield of 32.3 centners per hectare. Almost all districts of the region have passed the halfway point of the harvest. This week, the weather will complicate the course of the harvesting campaign in the region: according to weather forecasters, frequent rains are expected. Already on Sunday, for example, due to rains, harvesting in the Postavy and Braslav districts was practically stopped.
