The first million tons of coke have been shipped to Naftan
On April 22, the team of the delayed coking unit of Naftan OJSC reached a new labor milestone. The millionth ton of petroleum coke has been shipped to consumers from the coke storage and shipment section! Igor Baturin, head of the delayed coking unit for oil residues, commented on this event.– It has been just over two years since the first commercial coke was produced. A strong team of like-minded professionals capable of solving the most complex tasks has been formed at the delayed coking unit. All this time, in accordance with the supply schedule, we have been shipping high-quality and in-demand products. Buyers are interested in our coke! Since the beginning of 2024, the unit has been operating at maximum capacity – 200 tons of raw materials per hour. And this fact speaks volumes!
Coke is a by-product for us. The main economic effect from the delayed coking unit for the plant is obtained from light oil products. At the project implementation stage, when we studied the experience of our Russian colleagues, we were told that if the coke was sold "at zero cost," it would be very good. In practice, it turned out differently. We are proud that we are selling coke at a profit. And this is the merit of our entire enterprise as a whole!
