The first high-performance asphalt concrete plant in Belarus has been commissioned in Vitebsk
September 14, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA /. The first high-performance asphalt concrete plant in Belarus's road industry was commissioned today by Vitebsk OJSC "Road Construction Trust No. 1", reports a BELTA correspondent.
As the trust's General Director Alexander Kolkov announced during the grand opening ceremony, the production capacity of the CSD-3000/6 container-type asphalt mixing plant from the German company Lintek is 240 tons per hour. The plant, costing 2.1 million euros, was acquired through credit resources of foreign banks on a five-year lease. The new plant allows for the production of high-quality asphalt concrete mixtures, both of classic formulations and modern types of asphalt concrete (mastic, cast), used in the construction of complex bridge and tunnel structures.
The plant is designed on a mobile base, which allows for the complete relocation of production to any point in the country within two weeks and the commencement of product output at the new location. The use of modern bag filters in its construction significantly reduces harmful emissions into the atmosphere, with their levels being five times lower than the norms permitted by environmental legislation for similar productions. The production process is fully automated, and the plant will be operated by no more than 6 specialists.
The need to acquire the asphalt plant was primarily driven by the physical and moral wear and tear of the two plants currently operated by the trust. The commissioning of the new plant, which is expected to pay for itself in approximately five years, will fully meet the needs of the city and the region for this type of high-quality construction material, Alexander Kolkov added.
According to Anatoly Diulin, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, the opening of the plant is a significant event for the region, which faces demanding tasks for its construction complex. OJSC "DST No. 1" is the leading road construction organization in the region, and the new plant will enable the enterprise to double its production volumes for road construction and reconstruction. Currently, the "Courtyards" program is being implemented in Vitebsk, according to which it is planned to complete the asphalting of courtyard areas in the regional center by 2012, after which similar work will be carried out in all district centers. -0-
