A new permanent suburban health resort for children has officially opened in the Horadok district

Новый стационарный загородный оздоровительный детский лагерь официально открылся в Городокском районе
A unique facility has appeared in the Horadok district, serving as an example of how to utilize buildings and territories left after optimization in the education system.

A year ago, the village of Kabishche housed a small school with only a few dozen children. A decision was made to close it. This not only saved money but also allowed for the construction of a modern center for organizing summer leisure activities for children.

— "Orion" became the first suburban health resort with round-the-clock child accommodation in the Horadok district, — reported Vladimir Novichenok, Head of the Department of Education, Sports, and Tourism of the District Executive Committee. — The former school building is located in a pine forest; it has been completely reequipped, and the children live and rest in comfortable conditions.

To verify the quality of the work done, Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, visited Kabishche.

— Initially, when closing the educational institution, we planned to create a camp on its basis, which the district desperately needed, — clarified Vladimir Vladimirovich. — The conditions here are excellent, so I hope that children will want to return to Kabishche again and again.

About 100 boys and girls aged 6-18 gathered at the camp. The first shift has an artistic and aesthetic profile, while the second will be sports and tourism-oriented. The children's leisure activities are rich. In addition to various entertainment events, discos, excursions, and contests, trips to Horadok Secondary School No. 2 are planned, where the children will visit one of the best climbing walls in the country. They also enjoy playing laser tag on two equipped polygons and use free Wi-Fi in their free time to communicate with family and friends. The rope park, whose equipment was financed by the European Union, is in high demand.

— There are two tracks of different difficulty levels, located at different heights on the trees. There are descents, zip lines, and 14 obstacles, — Vladimir Novichenok reported. — By the way, the park can be visited not only by vacationing children, but also by anyone who wishes, after prior arrangement of their visit with an instructor.

Vouchers to "Orion" are already sold out for the second shift as well, which will last from August 2 to 19. Children from all over Gorodok region, the oblast, and even Russia are coming here.
