The first wind farm in the Vitebsk region will start operating in 2019
The first wind farm in the Vitebsk region will be established in the Liozno district and commissioned by the summer of 2019, the director of the investor company "VetroVatt" LLC, Valery Alexandrov, told a BELTA correspondent.
It is planned to invest about $8 million of borrowed funds and the company's own resources in the project implementation. The volume of environmentally friendly energy production will be about 20 million kWh per year. This is comparable to the annual electricity consumption of a settlement with about 2,000 inhabitants, explained Valery Alexandrov.
The generated energy will be supplied to the Belarusian energy system. The park will be based on two wind turbines from the German company Vensys with a total capacity of about 6 MW. They have a number of competitive advantages. In particular, thanks to the use of a permanent magnet in their design, the wind turbines operate silently and are energy-efficient. At the same time, the producer of green electricity intends to maximize the use of auxiliary equipment from Belarusian enterprises, emphasized the director.
The site for the installation of wind turbines has been determined in the area of the villages of Veleshkovichi, Simanovo, Gorshevo, Emelyanovo. The project involves the creation of three jobs. These will be engineers who will undergo training at an authorized center of the German manufacturer.
