Pyotr Parkhomchik: Vitebsk region must strive for higher results
Vitebsk region has set a high bar in its work based on the results of 2022. This lower boundary must now be taken as a starting point, and efforts should be directed towards achieving even higher results. This opinion was expressed today by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, authorized representative of the Head of State in the Vitebsk region, Pyotr Parkhomchik, in the city on the Dvina River at a ceremony honoring the frontrunners who have made a significant contribution to the region's development.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Vitebsk region is a treasury of Belarus's historical heritage. Euphrosyne of Polotsk, Francysk Skaryna, Marc Chagall... Many unique personalities lived and created here. Their names have been preserved through centuries and years. Through the prism of their contributions, young people learn about the world and the value of their native land, and cultivate patriotism. The industry of the Vitebsk region is also unique, noted Pyotr Parkhomchik:
- Today, the flagships of the light industry and petrochemical enterprises, such as "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" and "Naftan," are achieving significant results here. New stars have also emerged in the Vitebsk region. These include the company "Energokomplekt," which specializes in the production of cable products and supplies a significant portion of its goods for export, and the rolling mill in the Miory district, which has set a good pace of work. One of the key tasks facing all manufacturers now is the diversification of production. Addressing this issue, along with striving for higher results, should form the basis of the regional leadership's work.
