Five resource centers for vocational education institutions are being created in the Vitebsk region
October 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Five resource centers for vocational education institutions are being created in the Vitebsk region, Ivan Shchurok, head of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent.
Resource centers specializing in training personnel for the construction industry are being equipped at the Orsha Vocational School No. 110 and the Vitebsk Construction Builders' Lyceum No. 2. Specialists for agriculture will improve their practical skills in the resource centers of the Gorodok and Postavy vocational-technical colleges, and future workers of light industry enterprises will train at Vitebsk Lyceum No. 4. 70% of the most modern equipment and machinery has already been purchased for these educational institutions. At the same time, the replenishment and updating of their technical fleet is carried out constantly.
Ivan Shchurok noted that the decision to form two resource centers in the region with agricultural and construction profiles was made due to the high demand for qualified specialists in these sectors in the labor market and the interest of young people in obtaining such specialties.
The vocational education system of the Vitebsk region includes 35 educational institutions with 15.1 thousand students. In 2009, about Br4 billion was allocated for improving the training process and strengthening the material and technical base of these educational institutions under the State Program for the Development of Vocational Education.
