For the fifth day, a missing pensioner mushroom picker is being searched for in the Horadok district

September 11, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. For the fifth day, rescuers have been fruitlessly searching for a missing pensioner mushroom picker in the Horadok district (Vitebsk region), a BELTA correspondent was informed at the district police department. Nikolai Shalavka, a resident of Horadok, born in 1922, went to the forest for mushrooms on September 5 with his son and grandson. They chose familiar places - in the territory of the "Korytinsky Moss" hydrological reserve near the village of Gribali, where the pensioner is from. However, the mushroom pickers got separated in the forest, and the elderly man did not return home. More than 40 employees of the local police department, the district department for emergency situations, the Horadok forestry, as well as relatives of the missing person and public representatives are involved in the search operations daily. The situation is complicated by the swampy terrain in the search area, the police department noted. Another search operation is underway in the Rosson district. Colleagues from the neighboring Nevel district (Russia) sought assistance from the local police department, where searches for a Moscow resident, born in 1933, have been ongoing since August. He was vacationing on Lake Usvyacha on Russian territory. Having gone in search of a channel connecting Lake Usvyacha and Lake Glyba in the Rosson district, the man likely got lost. His whereabouts have not yet been established. -0-
