Almost 40 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products have been stored in the Vitebsk region
Almost 40 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products have been stored in the Vitebsk region for the inter-seasonal period, and the region's needs are fully met. Plans for creating stabilization funds in the region were completed within the established deadlines. Fruits, mainly apples - 5 thousand tons, potatoes - 15 thousand tons, and traditional vegetables - 19.8 thousand tons (white cabbage, carrots, beets, and onions) have been stored.
The reserves were formed based on last year's sales volumes, and it was assured that they are more than sufficient to ensure uninterrupted supply of vegetables and fruits to trade organizations, public catering, and the budget sector. Fruit and vegetable reserves for the autumn-winter period are evenly distributed based on the number of residents in districts and cities, including the largest ones - Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk. Large storage facilities are located at agricultural enterprises of the Vitebsk district - SPK "Olgovskoye", KFH "Varmas", OAO "Rudakovo", branches of RUP "Vitebskenergo" - "Vesna-energo" in the Polotsk district and "Teplichny" - in the Orsha district, as well as other agro-industrial complex organizations - a total of 27 facilities. Another 19 storage facilities are filled in organizations of the regional consumer union and 9 - in trade enterprises of the region.
