Almost 90 mortar shells were stored in a forest in the Polotsk district by illegal diggers

A cache of ammunition collected by illegal diggers has been destroyed in the Polotsk district, the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Department informed a BELTA correspondent. The information about the illegal stash in the forest near the village of Dretun was received by the 9th Directorate (for Vitebsk Oblast) of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. During its inspection, 76 mortar mines of 50 mm caliber, 11 mines of 82 mm caliber, an RG-42 grenade, two F-1 grenades, and an artillery fuse from the Great Patriotic War era were discovered. The ammunition was destroyed by a demining group of military unit No. 5530. The identity of the "owner" of the cache is being established.-0-
