Almost every third enterprise in the Vitebsk region uses the simplified taxation system

Business entities of the Vitebsk region applying the simplified tax system (STS) increased budget payments in January-October by more than 30% compared to the same period in 2009, reaching Br114 billion in comparable terms. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press center of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties Inspectorate for the Vitebsk region. As of November 1, almost 10.4 thousand taxpayers in the region apply the simplified tax system, including over 4.5 thousand legal entities and more than 5.8 thousand individual entrepreneurs. Their number has increased by more than a third compared to the data for the 10 months of 2009, with almost every third enterprise choosing this tax reporting system. The largest number of taxpayers under the simplified system operate in Vitebsk (over 4 thousand), as well as in Novopolotsk and Orsha (over 1 thousand business entities in both cities). In January-October, revenues from legal entities applying the STS amounted to Br92.9 billion, with the monthly contribution to budget revenues from each taxpayer in this category being about Br2 million. Payments by individual entrepreneurs under the STS exceeded Br21 billion – on average, each individual entrepreneur paid about Br370 thousand per month. Business entities applying the special tax regime are characterized by high tax discipline. Thus, as of November 1, only nine STS taxpayers had budget payment arrears totaling almost Br46 million. -0-
