The economic court of the Vitebsk region sent almost five hundred SMS messages to debtors in two months

The Vitebsk Regional Economic Court has sent almost five hundred SMS messages to debtors in two months, the head of the judicial practice department, Olga Kibisova, told a BELTA correspondent. Since August of this year, the enforcement department has implemented and is actively using a new work method - mass SMS messaging about compulsory debt collection to debtors' phone numbers using the resources provided by the mobile operator JV "MTS". According to the interviewee, such communication with debtors yields an undeniable positive result: in addition to additional information about the existing debt, debtors themselves begin to actively contact the bailiff to clarify what procedure has been initiated against them and what negative consequences the compulsory enforcement of the court order may entail. Currently, there are already numerous examples of debt repayment by individual entrepreneurs related to receiving SMS messages, Olga Kibisova stated. Over the 9 months of this year, the Regional Economic Court has initiated 8975 enforcement proceedings, which is 34% more than in the same period last year. 69% of the total number of executed proceedings have been actually executed. -0-
