A tourist bus overturned near Vitebsk. We tell you how events unfolded
On June 22, 2023, at approximately 17:40 in the Vitebsk region, on the 93rd kilometer of the M-8 highway (border of the Russian Federation - Vitebsk - Gomel), the driver of a Neoplan bus, according to preliminary information, collided with a Nissan crossover that had stopped at an intersection to make a left turn.
As a result of the impact, the bus drove into a ditch on the right side of the direction of travel and overturned. There were 50 people on board, including the driver.
Six ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene. All injured passengers received medical assistance on site and initially refused hospitalization. However, ambulance personnel managed to persuade the individuals to seek medical attention at hospitals for preliminary diagnoses.
As a result, 4 people, including one child (16 years old), were taken to the Vitebsk Emergency Hospital. 7 people, including 1 child (12 years old), were taken to the Vitebsk Regional Hospital. All received medical consultations from specialists for more accurate diagnoses of their injuries and were provided with all necessary medical care. One woman was hospitalized in the trauma department of the Vitebsk Regional Hospital. Her condition is moderate.

The traffic accident situation in the Vitebsk region was under the personal control of the head of the Vitebsk region, Alexander Subbotin, who visited the scene of the incident.
Local authorities and the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross responded promptly to the incident, including providing food and water to the tourists. The carrier sent a new bus for the tourists.
