The preparation for the summer children's health season was discussed at a field meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies
Another field meeting of the Presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies was held today at the "Zhelezhnodorozhnik" sanatorium and the "Magistral" health camp of the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways. It was chaired by the head of the Vitebsk region's parliamentary corps, Vladimir Terentyev. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Penin, and other officials.
The main item on the agenda was the discussion of preparations for the upcoming children's summer health improvement season.
This year, as Vladimir Terentyev noted, it is planned to provide health improvement services to about 42,000 children of all ages, including about 17,000 in full-time camps and over 25,000 in day camps. 1365 children will spend a shift in labor and recreation camps. Special attention is paid to the health improvement of children in need of social protection. It is planned to accommodate 1500 orphans and children left without parental care, and 350 children with disabilities in the camps.
Planned health improvement volumes have been assigned to each city and district of the region. In addition to 105 thousand rubles from the republic, 140 thousand rubles have been allocated from the regional budget for the preparation of camps for the summer season, and the camp owners will spend 2 million rubles on strengthening the material and technical base. Another 60 thousand rubles have been reserved from regional funds for additional payments for vouchers for preferential categories of children.
It is gratifying, as was noted during the discussion, that measures are being taken in the Vitebsk region to reverse the trend of decreasing the number of camps. It was noted that this year the suburban health camp "Burevestnik" of OJSC "Vitebskiye Kovry" will resume its work. In the Orsha district, a full-time camp "Katyusha" will open its doors for the first time on the basis of the Usten primary school – secondary school. It is recommended to adopt the experience of the Gorodok district, where the building of a closed school in the village of Kabishche has been used for children's health improvement purposes since July 2017. Next summer, it is planned to provide health improvement services to about 400 children in four shifts.
In addition to health improvement, camps are becoming places for active recreation and interesting educational work for children. Under
