A draft decree on amendments to the rules of hunting and fishing in Belarus has been prepared

September 30, Vitebsk region /Natalia Ilyicheva - BELTA/. A draft decree "On Amendments and Additions to the Decree of the President of December 8, 2005 No. 580" has been developed in Belarus, which provides for amendments to the Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting, and the Rules for Fishery Management and Fishing. This document was prepared by the Ministries of Forestry and Agriculture and Food and has been submitted to the Council of Ministers, said Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, at a seminar today, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. In particular, the document proposes to abolish the hunting management project, replacing it with a biological and economic justification, in order to save financial resources, the speaker noted. According to the draft decree, the regulation of the population and distribution of game animals of regulated species, as well as bears and lynx, is proposed to be carried out by hunting. This will increase the profitability of hunting management and the interest of hunting ground users in conserving these animals. Vladimir Andreichenko added that environmental legislation requires further improvement. For example, in recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in cases of destruction of agricultural and forest crops by wild boars, which is due to an increase in their numbers. In this regard, proposals aimed at maintaining their optimal numbers by potentially reducing the minimum cost of hunting permits deserve attention. -0-
