A wheelchair lift was received by the nursing hospital in Babinichi, Vitebsk region
Vitebsk region celebrates its 85th anniversary with a gift for the Babinichi nursing home in Vitebsk district.
The three-story Babinichi nursing home, with its long history, has never had an elevator. Therefore, thanks to the lift, which will operate between staircases, residents will now have the opportunity to move more comfortably from the upper floors to the lower ones, where the reception room and treatment rooms are located. By the way, the "Mercury" lift is of domestic production.
The ceremony for the handover of the long-awaited and much-needed device, a lift for wheelchair users, was attended by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department of Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, Galina Zhelanova, Chairperson of the regional Red Cross organization, representatives of the Babinichi Nursing Home, a branch of the city polyclinic No. 7, under whose patronage five similar institutions with social beds operate in the Vitebsk region.
"We are working very productively and systematically with the regional Red Cross organization," said Vyacheslav Durnov. "Medical institutions are also involved, where social beds are provided for frail, lonely people. And we have many more plans in our joint work, as we understand how important it is to surround people with disabilities with care, to create comfortable living and mobility conditions for them."
- Over the past month of last year and the beginning of this year, essential hygiene products and equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, and lifting devices, totaling 25 thousand rubles, were delivered to 8 regions of the province, - reported Galina Zhelanova.
Babynichi hosts one of the largest nursing care hospitals, accommodating over 90 individuals. Many of them have undergone severe illnesses, surgeries, have limited mobility, and require constant care. Undoubtedly, this care will now be of higher quality, and the work of nurses and volunteers will be eased.
