The citizenship and migration units of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee are implementing SMS notification, reports BELTA, citing the official website of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

"The holiday season is the busiest time for issuing and exchanging passports. Due to the established one-stop-shop application principle, to save citizens' time and effort, starting from July 1, the citizenship and migration units of internal affairs bodies will begin to provide a new service for informing citizens via SMS messages to their mobile phones about the readiness of documents for issuance: a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, a residence permit in the Republic of Belarus, a travel document," the internet resource reports.

To receive this service, it is necessary to indicate the full mobile phone number to which the message will be sent in the application for the issuance (exchange) of the relevant document and provide a receipt for payment of the service. The cost per message will be Br1 thousand.
Residing with invalid passports or residence permits may result in the citizen being brought to administrative responsibility and fined up to 4 basic units (Br400 thousand), the Department of Internal Affairs reminds.
