The "Train of Memory" will depart from Vitebsk and travel to Brest
More than 300 people from all over the region will take part in the marathon. These are working youth, activists of the BRSM, trade union movement, and other public organizations.
From Vitebsk, the train, with a ceremonial stop in Orsha, will proceed to the southernmost regional center of Belarus, where a requiem rally and flower-laying ceremony will be held at the Brest Hero-Fortress. For the first time within the framework of the event, veterans of the Komsomol will present the young generation with new-style BRSM youth cards at the walls of the magnificent memorial.
The train will return to the northern capital on April 29. The long journey will be accompanied by contests of agitation brigades, for the best patriotic song, leaflet, caricature, design of a compartment in the style of front-line life, a quiz on the Great Patriotic War, etc.
The organizers of the marathon (in addition to the regional committee of the BRSM, these are the regional executive committee, the regional trade union association, the regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Fund, the regional organization of the public association "Belaya Rus," and the tour company "Ilva") hope that this format will help involve young people in socio-patriotic activities, foster love for the Motherland, and ensure the continuity of generations.
