The energy saving indicator in the Vitebsk region for January-April reached minus 15.6%

May 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The energy saving indicator in the Vitebsk region for January-April reached minus 15.6%, Vladimir Khron, head of the Vitebsk Regional Department for Supervision of Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources, told a BELTA correspondent. According to him, according to preliminary data, the northern region became the only region in Belarus that not only fulfilled the established energy saving target of minus 13.5% but also exceeded it. In total, based on the results of the four months, the region consumed 1.7 million tons of conventional fuel (tcf), which is 106.5 thousand tcf less compared to the same period last year. It is noteworthy that the decrease in energy consumption occurs while maintaining a sufficiently high indicator of commodity production growth rates, which in January-April amounted to 109.8%. This was mainly achieved through the modernization of enterprises and the improvement of their energy efficiency. The work of OJSC Naftan is particularly indicative in this direction, where, through deep oil refining, it was possible to significantly increase production volume with lower fuel consumption, the interlocutor said. Organizational measures also brought a tangible effect. For example, the implementation of a project in large cities to turn off heating in stairwells at positive air temperatures resulted in savings of almost 3 thousand tcf per month. The optimization of the load on the power grids, weekly checks of all regulators of electricity supply to homes of citizens and organizations also yielded results. The set target was largely achieved due to the systematic work on implementing resource saving and energy saving measures at each enterprise in the region, Vladimir Khron added. -0-
