Polotsk became the first district center in the region to open a diabetic foot clinic

A specialized clinic for the treatment of patients with diabetic foot syndrome has been established at the city polyclinic. It is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, which will allow for high-quality prevention of cardiovascular complications and prevent lower limb amputations in diabetic patients.

In addition, it is expected that through targeted coordination of the work of general practitioners, endocrinologists, surgeons, and other specialists, an individualized prevention system can be selected for each patient at the early stages of the disease.

This project is being implemented within the framework of the National Program for Demographic Security for 2011-2015 and should contribute to reducing disability among the population of the Polotsk region. As of today, 3014 patients suffering from diabetes mellitus are registered in the district, of which about 18% of diagnosed patients have lower limb lesions.
