"Полоцк-Стекловолокно" приступает к строительству нового цеха

The main task of JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" for 2019-2020 is the implementation of the investment project "Construction of a workshop for the production of thermochemically treated electrical insulating materials for foiled dielectrics". General Director of the company Oleg Kurilin told Prime Minister Sergei Rumas about this project today during his visit to the enterprise.

Glass fabric additionally processed in the new workshop will be in demand in the promising market of foiled dielectrics. They are used to make printed circuit boards, which are used, among other things, in radio electronics. "This is a completely different level and image in the market. This is our opportunity to cooperate with Panasonic," noted Oleg Kurilin. The estimated cost of the project is about Br34 million. The architectural part is completed, and construction is planned to begin in the near future.

"The requirements are very high, because the electrical insulation then goes into the production of boards for the automotive industry in Europe. The boards are small, and the responsibility for recalling defective cars is high," added the General Director. In addition, "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" is completing the implementation of the investment project "Increasing the capacity for processing fiberglass of the existing workshop 7, located in the building of the single-stage production unit, and existing workshops 8 and 9 in the building of the spinning and weaving complex" this year.

The cost of the project is Br10.5 million, with the enterprise using its own funds for the work. They are aimed at increasing the production capacity of electrical insulating glass fabrics, which are in demand in the market and have high added value. The enterprise's workshops have been equipped with modern equipment. Importantly, the project provides for the creation of jobs. And already now, after increasing the capacity, employees have felt the effect in the form of salary growth. At the same time, attention is paid to other areas of activity, and glass melting furnaces are replaced as needed. Sergei Rumas heard the report of the head of the enterprise and familiarized himself with the entire production chain directly in the workshops.

The Polotsk Fiberglass Plant was commissioned in 1958, with2003 - JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno". The products are used in high-tech industries such as automotive, medicine, aviation, shipbuilding, electrical engineering, metallurgy, military-industrial complex, construction, etc. The range includes about 900 types of products. It is export-oriented, with its share exceeding 90%. In 2018, products were supplied to 47 countries. Innovative products accounted for 26.4% of the total shipped volume last year.
