Polotsk border guards detained a citizen of Iraq and a resident of Minsk who attempted to illegally cross the border

A couple who did not have documents for the right to be in the border zone were identified on the morning of January 7 during a check of the regular bus route Verkhnedvinsk – Osviya. During a personal inspection, maps of the area, a laptop, two medical insurance policies, various identification documents, and money were found on the Iraqi citizen.

The 25-year-old foreigner did not hide that he wanted to cross the state border, and the 21-year-old Belarusian woman was helping him in this.

The Minsk resident was found to have violated the state border and border regime. She will have to pay a fine of 15 base units (2.7 million rubles). The citizen of Iraq was also registered as a violator of the state border. He has been placed in the temporary detention center of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment.
