Polotsk border guards detained illegal immigrants from Vietnam, who were accompanied by two natives of the Chechen Republic
On the night of February 27, in the border zone of the Braslav district, Polotsk border guards detained 9 citizens of Asian appearance, who were accompanied by two natives of the Chechen Republic. During the check, it was found out that the detainees were citizens of Vietnam. The offenders intended to cross the Belarusian-Latvian border, having arrived in the border area by minibus.
Currently, proceedings are being conducted with the detained citizens of Vietnam. They face prosecution for violating the State Border of the Republic of Belarus in the form of a fine of up to 50 basic units with deportation. It should be reminded that due to changes in legislation on the State Border, from July 23 of the current year, the responsibility will be tightened, and the fine under the specified article will be imposed within the range of 10 to 100 basic units. The issue of bringing the offenders to justice for violating the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus is also being considered.
The citizens of the Russian Federation who brought the Vietnamese will be brought to administrative responsibility for violating the border regime. In the event that their involvement in organizing illegal migration is proven, they will be brought to criminal responsibility.
For reference: since the beginning of 2015, Polotsk border guards have detained 11 State Border violators, who in 3 cases attempted to violate the State Border of the Republic of Belarus, including 8 people from Afghanistan.
