Polotsk authorities are holding the first public discussion of the urban development project online

The official website of the Polotsk City Executive Committee has become a platform for the first public discussion in the city of the urban development project "Detailed Plan for the Airport Residential Area," Andrei Borovik, acting head of the architecture and construction department of the Polotsk City Executive Committee, and representative of the executive committee for conducting public discussions, told a BELTA correspondent. To maximally involve the city's residents and organizations, the executive committee did not limit itself to the traditional preparation of a package of documents and mock-ups and invitations to familiarize with them during designated hours for such discussions. The executive committee's website features a detailed plan in a special section with an architectural and planning solution, which includes proposals for the composition of residential development, reconstruction of the historical part of Zapoloty, and the creation of zones for sports and recreation, as well as tourist and engineering and transport infrastructure. Every website visitor can express their opinion and make suggestions until February 10. According to Andrei Borovik, "a broad discussion will be a good prompt for the final refinement of the plan before the conclusion of the expert review, will help make the lives of new residents more comfortable, and make Polotsk even more attractive for numerous tourists." The construction of the Airport residential area is part of the general plan of Polotsk, and some of its facilities are included in the Comprehensive Program for the Development of the City until 2012. In the near future, the project for the reconstruction of the historical part of the city will be submitted for public discussion. Given its significance, the Internet will again become one of the platforms for discussion, Andrei Borovik added. -0-
