Polotsk Dairy Plant More Than Doubled Exports in Q1

May 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Polotsk Dairy Plant increased its exports by more than two times to $3.7 million in the first quarter of this year, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. The significant increase in exports is due to the plant's entry into new sales markets. Thus, if in previous years Russia was the main foreign market for the enterprise, in 2010 it managed to supply products to Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Georgia. A contract with partners from Albania was signed recently. Negotiations are currently underway with Egypt and South Korea. Cooperation with partners from different countries has opened up new opportunities for the enterprise to increase exports and production volumes, as well as reduced dependence on the Russian market, the plant noted. In the near future, Polotsk Dairy Plant plans to install a line for bottling milk, kefir, and yogurt in PET bottles with a capacity of 1 liter, 0.5 liters, and 0.25 liters, as well as to purchase a line for producing whipped products based on cottage cheese. The latter will produce dairy desserts - puddings and mousses. The implementation of these projects will expand the product range, increase the plant's competitiveness, and also contribute to the growth of export supplies. The enterprise was founded in 1987. The product range includes about 70 items produced under the "Molochnoe razdolye" trademark. The average number of employees is over 600 people. For January-March of this year, the production volume was 136.5% compared to the same period in 2009, and consumer goods - 142.2%. -0-
