In 2012, servicemen of the Polotsk border detachment, in cooperation with other structures, seized goods and materials worth almost Br5.9 billion, Denis Glebko, assistant chief of the Polotsk border detachment, told a BELTA correspondent.
Over the past year, more than 1.1 million people and over 545 thousand vehicles passed through the state border of Belarus in the area of the Polotsk border detachment. Border guards detained 94 state border violators, 433 border regime violators, suppressed 177 violations of the rules of stay in Belarus and transit passage, and also identified 5 individuals who are prohibited or undesirable to enter Belarus.
Thanks to the border guards, 165 cases of administrative and customs offenses were identified, with goods and materials worth almost Br5.9 billion seized, as well as 10 vehicles worth over Br1.6 billion.
