Half of the decade's rainfall norm fell in Vitebsk
Half of the decade's precipitation norm fell today in Vitebsk, a correspondent of BELTA was informed by the regional center for hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring ("Vitebskoblgidromet").
Specialists note that unstable summer weather with thunderstorms and downpours, which are mosaic in nature, has developed in the region. Thus, on July 15, 55 mm of precipitation fell in Ezerishche in an hour, which corresponds to 60% of the monthly norm. No rain was recorded in the rest of the region. And on July 16, a heavy downpour also occurred in the regional center: 16 mm of precipitation fell, or half of the decade's norm. The rain was accompanied by strong winds with gusts up to 17 m per second and hail.
In the coming days, humid air masses will continue to enter the region, maintaining a high probability of rain.
