The situation in the consumer market of the Vitebsk region remains stable - the regional executive committee
May 21, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The situation in the consumer market of the Vitebsk region remains stable. Despite the increased demand for certain food products, such as sugar, cereals, vegetable oil, pasta, and salt, they are available without interruption, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
This is ensured both by the supply of food products by processing enterprises of the republic in accordance with the applications of trade organizations, and by the creation of buffer stocks of these goods by wholesale bases and retail chains. Sugar, cereals, vegetable oil, salt, and some other food products with long shelf lives are in stock for more than a month of sales.
Meat and dairy products, bakery products produced by the region's enterprises are delivered directly to stores daily according to orders, in line with demand.
To maintain a stable situation in the region's consumer market and prevent price increases, a system of measures to stabilize the situation in the consumer market was approved by the regional executive committee's order of May 19, 2011, No. 359r. Trade enterprises are recommended to maintain the current level of trade markups on basic food products, and for pasta, cereals, meat semi-finished products, vegetables, and fruits, trade markups have been reduced by 2-5 percentage points. The list of goods for which trade markups are recommended to be reduced includes 23 items. At the same time, for tea, coffee, and other food products not included in the list, the level of trade markups should not exceed 30%.
Trade enterprises have responded positively to these measures. Markups on food products are applied in accordance with the regional executive committee's order, and for certain groups, they have been reduced even further, with a flexible discount system in place.
For example, in all stores of OAO "Vesta," a trade markup of 5% is applied to imported vegetables and fruits, and for coffee, tea, and cereals, it is reduced by 5 percentage points compared to the recommended level. OAO "Nika" has reduced trade markups on sausage products and dairy products by 5 percentage points. In store No. 41 of OAO "Vitebskiye Produkty" on Pobedy Avenue, the trade markup on socially significant food products is 5%, on vegetable oil - 8%, and on other goods - 10%. -0-
