A Polish parliamentary delegation visited the Glubokoye district. The guests were welcomed with a fragrant loaf of bread

Польская парламентская делегация посетила Глубокский район. Гостей встречали душистым караваем
The Glubokoye region has great potential for the further development of the tourism sector, small and medium-sized businesses, and the implementation of successful investment projects, including foreign ones. This is the opinion of the Vice-Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Ryszard Terlecki.

He headed the Polish parliamentary delegation, which visited the Glubokoye district as part of a three-day visit to the Republic of Belarus. The foreign guests were accompanied by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Belarus, Artur Michalski, and deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

Ryszard Terlecki was impressed by the warm welcome in Glubokoye with fragrant каравай and local folklore, a colorful video presentation about the historical and cultural heritage of the region, and its socio-economic sphere. He thanked the district leadership for the opportunity to learn more about the Glubokoye region.

– We try to visit your country more often and always invite Belarusian delegations to Poland, – emphasized the Vice-Marshal. – This provides an opportunity to enrich our knowledge.

I believe that interaction at the level of personal communication has an effective impact on strengthening political and economic cooperation.

By the way, the people of Glubokoye have been friends with several regions of Poland for a long time. Five years ago, they signed an agreement on establishing partnership relations with the Polish city of Zielona Góra, and a little later, a protocol of intent on cooperation with the Gmina Rawicz. In the future, contractual obligations are to be signed with the city of Wolsztyn.

Moreover, the Glubokoye region has been maintaining friendly ties with representatives of the Korsak family, who live in Warsaw and other cities of Poland, for five years now. Their ancestor, Józef Korsak, owned the Glubokoye estate in the first half of the 17th century and was a patron of the arts. Under his patronage, magnificent shrines were built, which have survived to this day.

Currently, active cooperation between the Glubokoye district and the regions of Poland is observed in the fields of education and culture.

This year alone, Polish ensembles have visited international festivals held in Glubokoye twice. And in June, the folk ensemble "Krynichanka" from Glubokoye performed at a folklore festival in Wolczyn.

– Such creative trips provide an opportunity to get to know the culture of another country better, find friends, and talk about one's native region, – is confident the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Alexander Shubsky.

– Fruitful cooperation with the regions of Poland allows us to unlock the existing tourist, cultural, and historical potential of our district.

We are interested in the further development of international and regional cooperation in the social and economic spheres.

The Deputy Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Tatyana Tarasevich, emphasized that for 11 years, during the summer holidays, students of the district gymnasium have been vacationing in an international camp in Poland. This became possible thanks to the initiative of a native of Glubokoye, Polish deputy Edward Markiewicz.

As priority areas for the further development of mutually beneficial relations with Polish regions, the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies, Galina Unukovich, named tourism, sports, and agriculture. Galina Vladimirovna also noted that the basis of friendly ties is the historical past and the interest of Poles with Belarusian roots in strengthening the friendly ties of their cities with their small homeland.

An organizational structure of the public association "Union of Poles of Belarus" operates in the district, with a membership of 20 people. They take care of the graves of Polish soldiers at the old civilian cemetery in Glubokoye.

At a meeting with the Polish diaspora, Ryszard Terlecki spoke about the importance of preserving the memory of those who died during the war, and that the historical past is the basis for strengthening and further developing the sister-city ties between the regions of Belarus and Poland. The residents of Glubokoye showed the guests a unique architectural monument – a memorial column erected in honor of the Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth of 1791.

The foreign delegation also visited the Plissa health resort complex, a branch of CJSC Treст Promstroy. The complex, built on the northern shore of Lake Plissa, has become a magnet for foreign tourists in just a few years. Incidentally, last year it was visited by representatives from 32 countries.

The deputies of the Polish Sejm were impressed by the wide range of medical and wellness services offered, including those using mineral water and sapropelic organic mud. They called Plissa a paradise.

According to Ryszard Terlecki, such health resort centers provide an opportunity to attract not only foreign tourists but also investments to the regions, as their activities demonstrate the region's potential and the possibility of organizing successful businesses in Belarus.
