Polish business considers cooperation with Belarus promising
Polish business sees prospects in developing cooperation with Belarus. This was stated by Mateusz Lasky, Director of the Department for Promotion and International Cooperation of the Łódź Voivodeship Administration (Poland).
He heads the delegation of the Łódź Voivodeship, which is currently visiting the Vitebsk region on a business trip.
Summing up the initial results of the trip, the representative of the Łódź Voivodeship emphasized that "entrepreneurs say that they see prospects in developing cooperation with Belarus and hope for the development of interaction." The voivodeship administration can support them, but they will make decisions themselves, he added. The Łódź Voivodeship organized such a large delegation of entrepreneurs for the first time. A meeting with the leadership of the Orsha district has already taken place, and Polish guests visited several enterprises in Orsha. "We really liked what we saw there," stated Mateusz Lasky.
"Our delegation includes a wide range of businesses – vegetable and fruit producers, industrial equipment manufacturers, representatives of poultry farms, and others. Entrepreneurs are interested not only in the possibility of selling their goods in Belarus but also in establishing joint ventures. And this is the main issue we are discussing," said the head of the delegation.
For example, the management of a poultry farm is ready to open its business in Belarus. "But all decisions must be economically sound. If it is profitable for the enterprise, the plans will begin to be implemented. And this will become an example for other enterprises in the Łódź Voivodeship, to which we will also offer to open their businesses in Belarus," emphasized the Polish guest. He also specifically noted that Belarusian businessmen can count on the administration's support when implementing investment projects in Polish territory. The business visit of representatives of the administration and business of the Łódź Voivodeship, which takes place on April 26-27, is provided for by the cooperation agreement between the Łódź Regional Development Agency and the Vitebsk region.
