The cost of poultry semi-finished products must be reduced by July 21. In particular, products under the “Ganna” brand (poultry cuts – drumsticks, thighs, breasts, etc.) have become cheaper by an average of 5% since the 18th.

This decision was not made by chance. The Ministry of Economy of Belarus studied the situation regarding the sharp increase in wholesale prices for poultry semi-finished products in May 2014. And in order to stop violations of antimonopoly legislation, it issued orders to those poultry farms that did not take appropriate measures based on previously sent warning letters. These included two enterprises from the Vitebsk region: SOOO “Vitkonprodukt” and OAO “Vitebskaya broilernaya ptitsefabrika”.

However, manufacturers assure that the fixed prices, which are controlled by higher authorities, apply only to the carcass itself. It, in turn, has increased in price by 10% since May 21. Based on this, enterprises set their own prices for products made from the carcass, taking into account the costs of cutting and packaging.

— We conducted market research and increased the cost of products not by the recommended 10%, but by amounts that satisfied customer demand and corresponded to the enterprise's capabilities to meet it, — comments the chief economist of OAO

"Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm" Alexander Denisenko. — Prices for cuts were increased by 15%. This level of change in selling prices is not a violation of the law, as the enterprise sets prices independently. Around the same time, other producers did the same, and no one had any prior negotiations with anyone.

By the way, as assured by specialists of

"Ganna", since the introduction of new prices, there have been no refusals from trading organizations to supply products. Moreover, nothing has accumulated in warehouses. Nevertheless, the order sent by the Ministry of Economy, which must be fulfilled by July 21, has already been executed.

According to Natalia Reket, head of store No. 1 of OJSC

"Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm", customer demand has not decreased during this time. This includes residents of nearby regions of Russia who like products under the trademark "Ganna".
