The assistant train driver attempted to illegally import over a hundred kilograms of clothing and bags into Belarus

October 12, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. More than a centner of clothes and bags was attempted to be illegally imported into Belarus by a train driver's assistant, the Vitebsk customs office informed a BELTA correspondent. At the "Polotsk" customs clearance point, a customs inspection of the locomotive, which was traveling from abroad to Belarus, and the personal goods transported by the driver's assistant was carried out. Polypropylene bags, machine-stitched, containing clothes, allegedly used, were found in the locomotive. As a result of the customs inspection, inspectors established that new goods, clothes, and bags with labels and tags, totaling 323 items with a total weight of 127.1 kg and a value of Br72.5 million, were imported into the territory of the Customs Union. According to customs officers, the nature, quantity, and purpose of the imported goods initially preclude their use by the driver's assistant for personal use or other needs not related to entrepreneurial activity, which implies declaring such items in accordance with the law. Since they were not declared, they are considered to have been illegally transported across the border of the Customs Union. The goods have been seized and are under responsible storage pending the completion of the administrative process. -0-
